i know i still need to recount the super fun weekend in kauai, but i just haven't had the time. i know..."boo hoo. i have a job like the rest of the world." but i just haven't been able to do anything besides sleeping, work, and spending time with this crazy girl before she moves to england forever.
so it looks like the plan is to totally neglect everyone else in the world (including myself, my laundry, my bills, etc.) and spend time with her until she leaves. after that, then i'll be calling all of those up-til-now neglected people, begging them to come play with my depressed, lonely self. sound like a good plan? ugh.
just got back from a weekend on kauai with mealani. and i am still very very grimey. we did the hiking/diving/waterfall/jumping from piers/everything. i'll write about it later. after a good shower and some piranha room. yay.
still at it so far. i'm taking another break from report writing. yay report writing.
so here's one of the reasons my job is better than your job: i'm an "engineer" who sits behind his computer most of the time, but, for weeks at a time i get to play with my happy little friend named bobcat. i got to drive this around for a day. we had to move dirt around. "site restoration following an environmental investigation" or something legitimate sounding. but really, i just got to drive heavy machinery and play with dirt. what little kid doesn't play with his toy dumptruck and imagine himself doing that when he's older? i am truly living the dream. oh, i also got to operate one of these: loader backhoe. all i need to do is get the roughened hands and learn how to make half the words out of my mouth be swear words and i'll be all set.
so i'm at work and i just started this blogging deal. i think i should mention mark phillip for the inspiration for this. he mentioned it to me while we were at rosco's wedding. but i didn't get around to checking it out until a month and a half went by and i am stuck at work writing a report that is due very soon. it's funny how the studying techniques and work ethic that i used to get me through mit are still with me. at least i get the work done on time. we just won't mention how much sleep i get the night or two before the deadline. oh lord, i'm probably going to be procrastinating until i die. sorry, future wife and kids.
